Boyfriend by Justin Bieber
After weeks of teasing his fans, Justin Bieber‘s new single Boyfriend has finally been released – breaking Twitter and sending iTunes into meltdown in the process.
Bieber created chaos among his 19million followers shortly after the tracks release, with Boyfriend seeing Justin’s music taking a more mature route compared to previous hits One Time and Baby.
With lyrics such as “If I was your boyfriend, I’d never let you go, I can take you places you’ve never been before…”, the 18-year old’s fans lapped up his new song, with iTunes seemingly unable to cope with the huge volume of Beliebers trying to download the single.
Justin tweeted: “yo @itunesmusic im trying to romance 19 million ladies with my music. you are kinda screwing this up for me. LEGGO! #BOYFRIENDonITUNES.”
The song itself is reminiscent of the music his namesake Justin Timberlake was making on his FutureSex/LoveSounds album, with Bieber speaking over a hip-hop backing track and sounding a lot like the former NSYNC star on the chorus.
Bieber recently told USA Today that his new material is a lot more grown-up, explaining: “I’m maturing, and my music’s maturing, so I wanted to do something different.”
